General Instructions
The Household Inventory Manager provides a convenient method for
recording and keeping track of your valuable household property.
In the event of disaster, it is extremely important that you have
accurate records relating to your property in order to get a
prompt and equitable insurance settlement. The Household
Inventory Manager will handle this task with ease.
The following information is stored in the database:
Article
Description
Serial No.
Condition
Location
Category
Purchase Date
Original Cost
Insured Value
Remarks
Options are available to add new entries, or to delete, change or
view existing entries. Further, you may search the database for
the occurrence of any specified key word or phrase.
A general purpose query program is provided to allow you to
produce customized reports based on your selection criteria and
formatting specifications.
To start a new database, enter CLI and type the following
commands:
delete <drive>:houseinv/houseinv.dat
delete <drive>:houseinv/houseinv.idx
Note: substitute your disk drive name for <drive>, e.g.,"df0"
The Household Inventory Manager database will accommodate
approximately 2,900 entries. The core memory requirement is
512K.
Be sure to backup you database often!!
