  4.        The Household Inventory Manager provides  a convenient method for
  5.        recording and keeping track of your  valuable household property.
  6.        In the event of disaster, it is extremely important that you have
  7.        accurate records relating  to  your  property  in  order to get a
  8.        prompt  and  equitable   insurance   settlement.   The  Household
  9.        Inventory Manager will handle this task with ease.

  11.        The following information is stored in the database:

  14.                             Article
  15.                             Description
  16.                             Serial No.
  17.                             Condition
  18.                             Location
  19.                             Category
  20.                             Purchase Date
  21.                             Original Cost
  22.                             Insured Value
  23.                             Remarks

  26.        Options are available to add new entries, or to delete, change or
  27.        view existing entries.  Further, you  may search the database for
  28.        the occurrence of any specified key word or phrase.

  31.        A general  purpose  query  program  is  provided  to allow you to
  32.        produce customized reports  based  on your selection criteria and
  33.        formatting specifications.

  36.        To start  a  new  database,  enter  CLI  and  type  the following
  37.        commands:

  40.                          delete <drive>:houseinv/houseinv.dat
  41.                          delete <drive>:houseinv/houseinv.idx
  42.        
  43.        Note: substitute your disk drive name for <drive>, e.g.,"df0"
  44.        
  45.        
  46.        The  Household  Inventory   Manager   database  will  accommodate
  47.        approximately 2,900  entries.   The  core  memory  requirement is
  48.        512K.

  50.        Be sure to backup you database often!!
